Mary Baker Eddy, the Discoverer and Founder of Christian Science, supported and promoted work in institutions of reform throughout her life. Continuing that compassionate commitment to those incarcerated, Christian Science branch churches around the world support institutional work through volunteer chaplain programs.
CHRISTIAN SCIENCE VOLUNTEER CHAPLAIN AT THE TORONTO SOUTH DETENTION CENTRE (TSDC)
Under normal circumstances, this branch Church of Christ, Scientist, supports Institutional Work at the TSDC. Every Monday (with the exception of pubic holidays) Christian Science Bible Study is provided on various ranges to those interested in Christian Science. However, The TSDC announced that effective Saturday, March 14th, all volunteer services would be suspended in the institution would be closed until further notice.
If you have a loved one incarcerated at TSDC whom you think would be benefited by a visit from the Christian Science Chaplain when the institution reopens, please have them make a request from within to the Chaplaincy Department who will notify our volunteer. Please don't hesitate to contact us (see below) with any questions you may have.
